PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: GLENWILD RESIDENCE

Breaking from the norm is a regular occurrence at Hammerton. For this custom hilltop home in Park City, Utah, Hammerton collaborated with interior designer Leslie Schofield and architect Mike Upwall to strike a unique balance between Craftsman sensibility and organic contemporary style.

Architect Mike Upwall combined familiar elements of traditional Craftsman architecture with an open floor plan that takes complete advantage of sweeping 360-degree views.

Schofield’s intention was to create a fresh and modern aesthetic with a subtle nod to the legacy of Greene & Greene. The home’s contemporary Craftsman style inspired our team to incorporate different design elements that would resonate as both timeless and innovative. A series of custom designed fixtures both complemented the natural materials used in the home and highlighted the classic principles of Arts and Crafts style. A gorgeous mahogany stairway is illuminated with simple yet elegant wall sconces. Textured glass cover panels exude warmth while geometric shapes add modern interest.

Like water droplets gently rippling in the wind, the texture of this custom glass sconce easily catches the eye.

Hammerton crafted this stunning dining room linear suspension with diffusers made from honey calcite. The antique copper-finished framework and silhouette echo the tall rectangular windows, while the materials bring the outdoors in with earthy elegance.

Artful blown glass shades create a beautiful contrast to the matte black finish of these custom kitchen pendants.

Vanity sconces crafted from slumped kiln-fired glass and brushed nickel-finished steel underscore the subtle contemporary aesthetic in this master bath.
