INSPIRED DESIGN NEVER GOES OUT OF STYLE

Today, Hammerton is recognized as an innovator in lighting design at the intersection of glass and metal. But back in the 90’s, we were known as the vanguard of authentic mountain rustic lighting. Characterized by hefty wood and stone, the dominant look of mountain homes at that time was 100% rustic. Hand-forged, large scale steel light fixtures were an ideal complement to the prominent natural and handcrafted materials used throughout these homes. This was an inspired style concept at the time and resonated within mountain markets because of its tribute to the outdoor lifestyle.

Our most popular lights at the time were from our Log & Timber collection. Many featured life-like textured evergreen and maple boughs laden with leaves, needles, acorns and pine cones meticulously handcrafted from steel, while others showcased detailed landscape silhouettes with realistic animal motifs or heads sculpted from bronze.

While more recent Hammerton designs emphasize clean lines, contemporary forms and materials like artisan blown and kiln-fused glass, the Log & Timber collection is still relevant today. Old world materials like rawhide and beaded linen bring surprising warmth to transitional and contemporary lighting styles.
