Our glass production facility in Salt Lake City fabricates over seven tons of glass weekly. Typically, this volume generates an enormous amount of leftover material. From overflowing casting ladles to glass that doesn’t pass inspections, this ‘discard’ material is usually thrown away. At Hammerton, it’s given new life. Our custom tooling gives us the ability to crush excess glass into small pieces called frit, used in our Rimelight textured glass fixtures and selected cast crystal glass collections. These clever creations boast new distinctive elements – from surface texture to internal inclusions – creating a captivating interplay of light and form.
